While the Lab is holding an open house, the Berkeley Community Speaks out against:

  • Resumption of Nuclear Weapons Research at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory
  • Radioactive Tritium Emissions and contamination from the National Tritium Labeling Facility at LBNL
  • Expansion of Radioactive and hazardous waste storage at LBNL and the Lab's continuing refusal to prepare a full, updated Environmental Impact Report
  • LBNL research support for nuclear power industry's Yucca Mountain Waste Project.
  • The 40% cut in staff at LBNL's fire department (1995)
  • Environmental degradation through radioactive contamination of the the Strawberry Creek Watershed.
